Five Whys

Finding granularity of possible patterns is like asking why five time about something good made or done.

example

Our table missed its chance to explain our five-whys at the reliability offsite. We chose to explore an assertion from an earlier presentation: averages lie. We could have answered the question, why do averages lie with the knowing answer: long tail distributions. Instead we chose to reason in very small steps letting five-whys take us wherever it willed. Our whys:

1. Averages always lie, why?

2. We belive the average is common, why?

3. The venacular term "average" associates with common, why?

4. Our misuse of terms is not challenged, why?

5. So many distributions are "normal".
